DMCA and Copyright Policy

DMCA and Copyright Policy

At Gif Downloader, we respect the intellectual property rights of others and we ask everyone who uses our tools to do the same. This page explains our position on copyright, how we handle takedown requests under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA), and what to do if you believe your work has been used improperly.

This policy works alongside our Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

We do not host the content you download

This is the most important thing to understand about how our service works. OnlineGIFDownloader is a browser-based tool that helps people access media that is already available elsewhere on the internet. We do not upload, store, or host the GIFs, images, or videos that users download or convert. The files are processed in the user’s own browser or retrieved from third-party sources such as public media libraries.

Because we do not store the content, the material you are concerned about usually lives on another website or platform. In many cases the fastest way to have content removed is to contact the website or platform that actually hosts it. That said, if you believe our Site is enabling access to your copyrighted work in a way that infringes your rights, we take that seriously and will respond to properly submitted notices as described below.

Our expectation of users

Our Terms of Service make clear that our tools are for lawful use only. Users are responsible for making sure they own the content they download, have permission to use it, or that the content is free to use for their purpose. Using our tools to infringe someone else’s rights is against our Terms.

How to file a copyright takedown notice

If you are a copyright owner, or authorized to act on behalf of one, and you believe material accessible through our Site infringes your copyright, you may send us a written notice. To be valid under the DMCA, your notice must include all of the following:

  1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner or a person authorized to act on their behalf.
  2. A clear identification of the copyrighted work you claim has been infringed. If multiple works are involved, please provide a list.
  3. A clear identification of the material you believe is infringing, and enough information for us to locate it, such as the exact URL or page on our Site.
  4. Your contact information, including your full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  5. A statement that you have a good faith belief that the use of the material in the way complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  6. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in your notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or are authorized to act on the owner’s behalf.

Please send your complete notice to:

Email: [email protected] Subject line: DMCA Takedown Notice

Sending a complete and accurate notice helps us act quickly. Notices that are missing required information may be delayed until they are corrected.

What we do after receiving a valid notice

When we receive a notice that meets the requirements above, we will review it and, where appropriate and within our control, remove or disable access to the material in question, or take other reasonable steps. We may also forward the notice, including your contact details, to the party who submitted or is associated with the material, and to relevant third-party services.

Filing a counter-notification

If you believe your material was removed or disabled by mistake or misidentification, you may send us a counter-notification. To be valid, it must include all of the following:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the material that was removed or disabled and the location where it appeared before it was removed.
  3. A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that you have a good faith belief the material was removed or disabled as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your full name, mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  5. A statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the appropriate court, and that you will accept service of process from the person who filed the original notice or their agent.

Send your counter-notification to the same email address above with the subject line DMCA Counter-Notification. Where required by law, we may restore the removed material after a waiting period unless the original complainant files a court action.

False claims

Please be careful and honest when submitting notices. Under the DMCA, any person who knowingly makes a material misrepresentation, either that material is infringing or that it was removed by mistake, may be liable for damages. If you are unsure whether something is truly an infringement, you may wish to seek legal advice before submitting a notice.

Repeat infringers

We may restrict or block access to the Site for users who repeatedly misuse our tools to infringe the rights of others, in line with our Terms of Service.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review it occasionally so you know how we handle copyright matters.
